Software

This is a new website and there is going to be new content here – I hate the term under construction but it is. Most new content is found on the blog.

Digital photography with me began with Photoshop back in 1995. Back then a scanner was the only way to get photographs into the camera. But my main goal at the time was designing websites and graphic design. Photoshop was key to that process.

Today I use a host of software tools. I import my digital images into Adobe Lightroom where I perform the basic edits and then I take some of those into “real” Photoshop for the fancy edits. I also play with a number of plugins geared for photography. I am a big fan of the Nik Software plugins and Topaz Detail. The latest plugin is Nik Software’s Viveza 2 which allows me to edit a photo without creating complex masks. It rocks!

And I will be showing off and demonstrating things you can do with these digital tools. I have spent hundreds of dollars on books yet I call myself “self-taught.”
